Tibetan Art and Symbolism - Photography Project

Painting in Temple of Elephant Carrying Offerings
A recent project in Colorado was to record the amazing paintings around the temple building at Tara Mandala. The beautiful three story temple was painted by Lama Gyurmed, a renowned Buddhist artist who lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico now. He is one of the last Tibetan Thangka Painters to be traditionally trained in Tibet. He gives lessons in traditional Buddhist painting and is available for adding beautiful designs on homes, buildings and other special projects.
He is a very kind, funny and a wonderful being.

Ancient Springs

Pagosa Springs has the largest and deepest Hot Springs anywhere. The Ute term "Pagosah" means "Healing Waters," but it has been suggested by a native Ute elder that a more accurate term would be "Stinking Waters." The Ute Indians were one of the first to discover the miraculous Pagosa Hot Springs. Today, people travel from all over just to sit in the mineral filled pools. Here are some of the minerals that make up the amazing healing waters of Pagosa Springs below!

Summer in the Mountians

Where have I been all summer? Working on Photography and Archiving at Tara Mandala Retreat Center in Pagosa Springs, Colorado! It is a beautiful place in the four corners area in the San Juan Mountains.
Fun to go to the fantastic Pagosa Springs Healing Mineral Waters. Photography, yes! Fantastic wilderness, 700 acres to stroll around in. Many great teachers and Lama's visiting. We do work hard here, but the rewards are great! I hope to post more photography soon.  Tashi delek!

To the Theater "And Then There Were Nun..."

Donna Schultz as Telula
Old movie actresses meet for a holiday retreat but murder and mayhem await them in this play "And Then There Were Nun..." at Teatro Luna Azul.  A fun cast to photograph, and did some video work of the play as well. I enjoy working with people who can transform into such funny and interesting characters! These photographs were published in local magazines and newspapers.

Details of the Day

I love to have the time to photograph the details of the wedding day,
if I'm not too rushed. Lots of thought and effort go into making a
beautiful atmosphere and when making an album these images
can be background or accent to the other photographs.
